MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) -- The 25th annual Ruffed Grouse Society Youth Education Day brought the outdoors to the forefront on Saturday.
Children participated in several outdoor focused activities and sports including fly fishing, archery, and sport shooting. Every child was required to take a gun safety class before handling any firearms. The organizers hope to continue the rich tradition of outdoor activities in Wisconsin and they hope events like this one help teach kids how to develop good habits in the outdoors and, most importantly, have fun along the way.
The Ruffed Grouse Society teamed up with many other organizations to put together the event, including Ducks Unlimited and the Wisconsin DNR.
