The Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night attracted its biggest audience in 13 years, thanks in part to a Michael Jackson hologram.
The three-hour awards show, which aired on ABC, averaged 10.5 million people. The number reportedly spiked to 11.5 million during the half-hour in which a hologram version of the late Michael Jackson performed "Slave to the Rhythm," from the recently released posthumous album Xscape .
Justin Timberlake was the night’s biggest winner, collecting seven awards. He didn’t attend the ceremony but accepted two of his awards via prerecorded message.
