MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) -- Dairyfest is one of the biggest events in Central Wisconsin every summer, and it’s returning to Marshfield for its 33rd annual edition starting with a carnival Thursday evening.
Debbie Bauer from the Chamber of Commerce says the real kick-off event is the big “Mayor’s Breakfast” that gets underway bright and early at 5:30 a.m. Friday morning, and it’s one of the biggest dairy breakfasts in the country. According to Bauer, “Last year we served just under 2,200 people, we’re planning again for that. I can tell you it takes about 34 five-gallon pails of eggs to serve this group of people.”
The breakfast features goodies like fresh cheese curds and “secret recipe” scrambled eggs! The Mayor’s Breakfast serves from 5:30 until 9:30 Friday morning in the Exhibition Building at the Marshfield Fair grounds.
Dairyfest continues all weekend long with numerous activities citywide, including one of the largest parades you’re going to see in Central Wisconsin starting at 11:00 on Saturday.
