The Nekoosa Giant Pumpkin Fest always happens the first weekend in October..perfect timing to celebrate our love of pumpkins and also..drop some big ones!!! LOL. For the 2 day event..they drop a huge pumpkin each day. I had the honor of doing all the P.A. announcements on day two when they dropped a 1500 pound pumpkin from 95 feet up on a crane!!! I did the countdown..the pumpkin went KA-BOOM!! And kids ran out to collect the seeds. They want the seeds because they want the chance to grow their own giant pumpkin! A great tradition..thank you, thank you to the organizers..hope you ask me again soon!!!
