Oscar Robertson once averaged a triple-double for an entire season. Now I know the NBA game was much different in 1961-62 but the numbers are still astonishing. The Big O averaged 30.8 ppg,12.5 rebounds and 11.4 assists for the whole season. It hasnt been done since. Now Russell Westbrook is doing it. Although the season is still young, the OK City Thunder star, unshackled from sharing the ball with Kevin Durant, is averaging 30.9,10.3 & 11.3 so far. Can he sustain it?
Jim Harbaugh gets fined $10,000 for his criticism of officials after Michigan's loss on Saturday. Now I can't stand Harbaugh's sideline antics but why can't officials be called out when they don't do their jobs correctly when coaches and players get criticized,second-guessed and called out on a daily basis? What most fans can't stand is there is so little transparency when it comes to the fall-out on bad calls. Do officials get punished? Do they lose future games? I understand it's a tough job but they choose it and lets face it…many referees, umpires and other officials can get pretty arrogant when they are challenged. No reason why they can't eat some of that arrogance when they get it wrong.
