Earlier this week in a minor league baseball game Trenton's Matt Lipka bunted for a single with one out in the 9th inning of a no-hitter against Hartford. It sparked a bench clearing brawl as the Hartford team thought an “unwritten rule” had been violated. Even though the hit came against the 4th pitcher of the night. mlb.com writers interviewed some major league players on whether or not bunting to break up a no-hitter was fair game. It was about an even split with most of those in the no column saying it shouldnt happen after the fifth inning. And others saying its the score that matters…in a one run game it legitimate, not so much when youre down 3-0. My take is the unwritten rules need to go away. A hitters job is to get on base any way he can. As far as I'm concerned it shouldnt matter what the situation in the game is. Billy Hamilton says it doesnt matter, “You cant score if you dont get on base” I'd do it.” Former Brewer Scooter Gennett was on the other side saying its not a good look and “you've got to respect the unwritten rules of the game” How to you think Ty Cobb would respond to that? He would bunt and then taunt you from first base. Probably don't want to go that far but….
The WIAA State Softball Tournament gets underway today in Madison. Central Wisconsin teams involved include Tri-County vs Belmont and Gilman vs Blair-Taylor in D-5 and Pacelli plays Mishicot in D-4.

Theya re going to be playing songs from the Beatles White Album along with their own hits. They will play The Pabst Theater in Milwaukee on October 2nd.
