WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The 2021 Wausau Area Builders Association Parade of Homes is set to open on Tuesday and will spotlight seven custom-built homes across the region.
The annual event provides an opportunity for residents who are in the market to build time to connect with developers while also allowing those not in the market the chance to get ideas for improving their own living space.
“It’s an opportunity to see things in person,” said Travis Herman with Timber River Custom Homes. “You can get those ideas and piece them together into something that fits exactly what you are looking for and ideally your budget as well.”
The parade is being held amid continued fluctuation in the market for both building materials and furnishings. Despite that interest rates remain low, meaning no matter if you’re looking to build new or buy pre-existing it’s a good time to get in the market.
“We’re probably never going to see this low of interest rates [again,]” said Sam McLellan of Woodbury Custom Homes. “Ask someone who’s 50 or older what a good interest rate is; they probably got their first home loan at 15-18%.”
Hours for the parade will be:
Tuesday-Wednesday: 5 PM – 9 PM
Thursday-Friday: Noon – 9 PM
Saturday-Sunday: 11 AM to 5 PM
Four of the featured homes are in Wausau. Two are located in Mosinee, and one is in Weston. The one-time admission cost is $10 and can be paid at any of the featured homes. For the addresses and further information, click here.
