WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Those who qualify for a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot will be able to get them from Roundy’s supermarkets, which includes Pick n’ Save locations in Central Wisconsin.
Representatives for the chain say they have started offering the boosters to those who qualify and will open the shots up to appointment starting September 20th.
“We’re just really excited to give those in our community extra protection against the COVID virus. We’re seeing more and more breakthrough cases in the past several weeks so just what we can do to help keep people safe, keep them out of the hospital, and just do our part in stopping this pandemic,” said Birgitta Monson the Pharmacy Practice Coordinator at Roundy’s Supermarkets.
Health officials have recommended certain individuals receive a 3rd dose of vaccine around eight months after their completed series to boost immunity.
