MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A 40-year-old man from Wisconsin Rapids will serve six years in federal prison and 15 years of probation for distributing child pornography.
Benjamin Mann was handed the sentence on Wednesday. Officers say Mann was found to be distributing images through the Kik messenger app while also discussing assaulting children with numerous other users.
Judge James D Peterson said the graphic nature of the conversation factored into his sentencing.
Investigators say they were able to tie photos and other items found in connection with a suspect in Ohio to Mann’s accounts. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation, along with the Wisconsin DOJ and Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigation division.
