LAS VEGAS, NV (WSAU) — The Wisconsin football team continues to prepare for Thursday night’s Las Vegas Bowl vs Arizona State.
The Badgers will be without running backs coach Gary Brown who did not travel with the team due to an unspecified illness. Former Badger and Amherst native Garrett Groshek is filling in for Brown.
Also, fullback John Chenal will not play in the game…no reason was given. Joe Tippmann, Logan Bruss and Jack Eschenbach are injured and are doubtful for the game. Matt Henningsen was not in Vegas as of Monday but is expected to play on Thursday.
The Badgers also announced on monday that kicker Vito Calvaruso has joined the team through the transfer portal. He handled kick-off duties at Arkansas last season. He has three seasons of eligibilty remaining.
