MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin mens hockey team earned a signature victory with a 3-2 shootout win over 16th ranked Providence on Wednesday night at Fiserv Forum.
After trailing 2-0 in the 3rd period the Badgers got goals from Corson Ceulemans and Mathieu De St. Phalle.
After skating a scoreless overtime of 3-3, the two teams settled in for a shoot-out to decide the Kwik-Trip Holiday Face-Off Champion.
Jared Moe stopped five of the six shots from ther Friars. Brock Caufield and Zach Urdahl scored for Wisconsin. Moe had 31 saves on the night.
Wisconsin, 6-12-2, will return to action January 7-8 as they host Ohio State.
