MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WSAU) — A Marshfield Man has reached a significant settlement with the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority after he was injured during a concert at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis in 2019.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Tom and Diana Ugoretz will receive $1.25 million after a hydraulic steel barrier came down on Tom’s foot, causing a significant injury.
As part of the settlement, the nature of the injury was not disclosed. The final language includes a confidentiality clause.
The MSFA, which runs US Bank Stadium and other pubic sports venues in the Twin Cities, will contribute $745,000 to the settlement. It’s unclear who will cover the remaining balance, but other parties named in the lawsuit include M.A. Mortenson Company, Action Fence, and a pair of security and staffing service companies that were providing workers for the concert.
Officials say the injury occurred outside the stadium and involved a barrier used to keep vehicles from driving up to the stadium gates.
