WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Weston man accused of stabbing a woman in her apartment will go to trial for charges of first-degree intentional homicide and recklessly endangering safety.
Last week a judge scheduled David Morris for a five-day trial beginning November 28th and running until December 2nd.
Investigators say Morris broke into the woman’s apartment and stabbed her to death last July while officers were en route to the building.
Police say they heard a woman screaming from the apartment as they entered the building. When they knocked on the door, Morris told them there was no reason for them to come in. Officers eventually forced their way in, and at that time he lunged at them with a knife.

Officers shot him, and he was transported to a hospital for treatment. He’s since been held in the Wisconsin Corrections System on a $1 million cash bond.
Morris returns to court for a pretrial conference on September 30th. A jury status hearing will be held two weeks before the trial begins.
