STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Two Central Wisconsin men are being charged in connection with the overdose death of a 27-year-old woman who was eight months pregnant earlier this summer.
Police in Stevens Point say it started with a call on June 1st for a report of a woman who was unresponsive. Officers found signs of drug use at the scene, and immediately began a lengthy investigation into the incident.
Then on Wednesday officers announced the arrest of two men, Laron Thomas and Isaiah Solis. They are each facing two counts of reckless homicide for the death of the woman and her unborn child.
Officers add that the investigation led them to search a home in Wisconsin Rapids where they found numerous drugs including Fentanyl and marijuana laced with meth, LSD, and two firearms.
