RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU) — It’s life without parole for the man who shot and killed Hannah Miller last year in Oneida County.
Christopher Terrell Anderson was sentenced Tuesday, a week and a half after he admitted to pulling the trigger just days before he was scheduled to go to trial. As part of the plea, it was expected that both sides would argue for the possibility of parole after 30-40 years.
However, that’s not how Judge Michael Bloom saw it. He handed Anderson the mandatory life sentence without the eligibility to apply for parole, meaning he will remain in prison for the rest of his life. Anderson will also not be eligible for prison programming.
Anderson and Miller had been in a relationship and did have a child together. Friends and family had described the relationship as abusive, and the couple had recently broken up.
Following the incident, Anderson led authorities on a multi-state manhunt. Vehicles associated with him were found in the Twin Cities of Minnesota and he was ultimately arrested in Carol Stream, IL.
A second man, Seth Wakefield, is accused of helping Anderson carry out the crime by conducting surveillance on Miller’s apartment. He has a plea and sentencing hearing scheduled for September 6th in Oneida County.
