WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – Marathon County’s new sheriff has named his chief deputy.
Chad Billeb announced on social media on Sunday that Bill Millhausen is the new chief deputy, the number two officer in the department.
Millhausen served as a deputy, a detective, a lieutenant, and captain of the department’s communications division. He has 24 years of law enforcement experience.
In announcing the promotion Sheriff Billeb said, “Chief Deputy Millhausen has served on several special teams (SWAT, Dive Team, Crisis Negotiations, taught on our range as a Firearm’s Instructor and supervised the K9 Unit), he has also represented the Sheriff’s Office on many committees and work groups.”
Billeb said, “As the captain of the Communications Division, Bill was instrumental in updating all of the emergency call handling software which will prepare Marathon County to move to the next generation of 911. This will include advancements in how the community can reach us in an emergency. Chief Deputy Millhausen also worked to ensure that redundant systems are in place for 911 call handling in the event of a major disaster or damage to our current call center.”
Billeb had also been chief deputy before being elected sheriff last November.
