LAC DU FLAMBEAU, WI (WSAU) – The 38-year-old father of three who passed away due to his injuries at Howard Young Medical Center early on Saturday morning has officially been identified along with his attacker.
According to Lac du Flambeau Police, Matthew Allen Jr., 20, is accused of stabbing Joshua Hart with a butcher knife at a residence in Lac du Flambeau.
The press release stated that Hart was still alive when police arrived and Allen Jr was also still at the scene. Hart started to lose consciousness shortly after and emergency personnel attempted to save the man’s life as he was being transported to the hospital, but once there, he was declared dead.
Police Chief T.J. Bill stated that police officers and Vilas County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in Lac du Flambeau on an allegation of a stabbing.
The Wisconsin DCI and the Vilas County Sheriff’s Department will continue to support the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police Department’s investigation into the stabbing.
