WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Investigations into alleged complaints of child abuse at a local YMCA are being conducted by the Wisconsin State Department of Children & Families.
The South Wood County YMCA’s DCF home page states that a handful of incidents in June were brought to their attention.
This includes the claim that a staff member at the daycare center backhanded a child across the forehead.
Another report claims that a worker threatened children and forced-fed their food, though it is unclear whether all of these events were committed by the same person.
According to the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune, a meeting for concerned parents will be held at the YMCA on Monday (8/28) evening at 6:00 p.m.
