GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — An analysis by Wisconsin Public Service says customers may have lower heating bills this winter.
According to a news release on Friday, customers may see a decline of as much as $20 per month, assuming typical winter conditions and temperatures.
Spokesperson Matt Cullen says the projection is due to a worldwide dip in natural gas prices and WPS’ typical pattern of purchasing and storing gas when prices are lower.
Officials also remind customers who may struggle to pay their energy bills during the winter months that there are services available. Those include the State of Wisconsin’s low-income heating assistance fund, which is expected to be about $150 million this winter.
Customers can also call WPS or their specific service provider to arrange a payment plan or find further details about assistance programs.
