WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau Mayor Katie Rosenberg has completed her candidacy paperwork and has confirmed her place on the 2024 Spring Election ballot alongside at least nine Alder candidates in the city’s 11 districts.
That’s according to the latest update to the candidacy table from the City Clerk’s office, which shows that no primary races are currently needed in any Alder race though voters could still see a primary in the Mayor’s race if all three candidates complete their paperwork before the January 2nd deadline.
Rosenberg submitted 256 signatures, more than the 200 required to secure a spot on the ballot. Records show that current District 4 Alder Doug Diny has filed candidacy and submitted finance reports, but has yet to return his petition.
One other resident has also declared his intent but has yet to return a nominating petition.
Records also show that seven Alder districts have just one declared candidate, with many incumbents currently unopposed. Most of those have completed their campaign paperwork and have confirmed their place on the ballot, with just Carol Lukens, Dawn Herbst, and Becky McElhaney still working on their petitions. Herbst’s challenger, Victoria Tierney, has returned her paperwork and confirmed her place on the ballot.
