MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – TMJ4 sources report that a suspect has been taken into custody following a shooting that caused non-life-threatening injuries to a Milwaukee Police officer.
The Milwaukee Police Department stated that the incident was caused by a domestic violence issue and was resolved not long after Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputies, Milwaukee firefighters, and Milwaukee police officers arrived at the scene.
According to Wisconsin Right Now, the suspect was on Facebook Live during the standoff and told viewers that he was in a “shootout with police” and kids could be heard in the background. The suspect did have an open warrant due to a previous felony case for fleeing an officer and second-degree recklessly endangering safety.
The suspect’s identity has not been made public at this time.
