RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU) — An Oneida County judge has set bond at $1,000 cash for Jacob Petitt, the jailer accused of soliciting prostitution from female inmates.
Petitt made his first court appearance on Wednesday afternoon, where the District Attorney also announced that he’s been placed on administrative leave from his position with the Jail.
Investigators say Petitt told the women how they could elude drug enforcement officers in exchange for sexual favors.
Conditions of Petitt’s bond include not leaving Oneida County. He returns to court on January 20th, though a judge admits that the strength of the evidence against him is “unclear.”
