WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — An accident involving a semi-trailer on the Highway 29 ramp to southbound US 51 blocked the exit completely on Wednesday.
Wisconsin State Patrol reports the incident happened at around 8 AM. Initial reports indicated that the accident could take more than two hours to clear, but it wasn’t until almost 1 PM that cars were able to flow through again.
Drivers detoured to the Highway 52/Stewart Avenue exit, then backtrack to US 51 south while the crash was cleared. It’s unclear what caused the incident, or if there were any injuries.
