WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Two incumbents and one newcomer have announced their intention to run for seats on the Wausau School Board in April.
In a joint press release on Friday, Jim Bouché, John Creisher, and Joanna Reyes all announced their intent to run. Bouché and Creisher already serve on the board, while Reyes would be a newcomer.
They join Kayley McColley, a 2018 Wausau West graduate, who announced her candidacy in a Facebook post in late November, bringing the number of declared candidates for the election up to four.
The district will have three seats up for election next April. Those are currently held by Bouché, who serves as the Board Vice President, Creisher, and Jane Rusch. Should more than six candidates jump in the race, a primary will be held in February to narrow the list.
Creisher won his seat in 2020 for a one-year term as part of a group of three candidates who ran a closely-coordinated campaign focusing on the struggles that some parents had during the COVID-19-related e-learning period. All three candidates won seats on the board.
