WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Two Wausau staples are putting up matching funds for all the cash donated as part of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign this Tuesday through Saturday.
Aqua Finance has announced they will match up to $15,000 collected over those three days, while Ruder Ware has put up $5,000 in matching funds, for a total of $20,000.
Meaning, the first $5,000 collected will be tripled, and the next $10,000 will be matched.
The funds come at just the right time for the Wausau Salvation Army, as the Red Kettle Campaign has raised just under $48,000, just 32% of their goal of $150,000. The bell-ringing campaign ends at noon on December 24th.
Donations made to the red kettles account for over half of the organization’s operating budget.
The Salvation Army is also looking for bell ringers for the last few days of the fundraising campaign. Those appointments can be made online at registertoring.com or by contacting the office in Wausau. Those who do sign up to ring can win a $250 Chamber Gift Certificate being offered up through the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce.
