The Packers like Joe Callahan. The quarterback from D-3 Wesley College showed enough in camp to earn a spot on the roster. But sometimes those roster spots are temporary and it becomes a numbers game. Green Bay has two players, Mike Pennel and Demetri Goodson, returning from suspension this week. They also have a situation at running back with injuries to both Eddie Lacy and James Starks. So roster moves must be made. The first was yesterday as the Packers released Callahan. I would imagine that the team would like to put Callahan on their practice squad if he clears waivers today. Two more moves are expected today or tomorrow. If Lacy and Starks remain questionable it would probably mean Don Jackson would be activated from the practice squad for Sunday's game.
