Remember when you were a kid and by the end of the summer you were so ready to go back to school to see all your friends and get back into a routine?
Well, kids have been out of school since March and they are more than ready to go back, but there's still six more weeks of summer break! What can you to do help keep your kids entertained so they can enjoy the rest of summer?
Here are some safe ideas with social distancing in mind:
- Pick your own berries. My kids love all kinds of fruit and there are lots of places to go berry picking. It's a fun afternoon activity and social distancing on a farm is pretty easy.
- Make fairy houses or bird houses. They are pretty simple to make, you can find plans online and then paint the houses any way you want.
- Camp in your yard and use a projector and play an outdoor movie.
- Make a time capsule and bury it in the yard.
- Pack a picnic and go to the park.
- Master a new skill together, learn to sew or crochet or maybe learn a new language. I'm teaching my kids sign language.
- Play a quiz game and turn it into a game show.
- Do a puzzle together.
- Make jewelry or paper crafts
- Make an obstacle course outdoors and have a race.
All of these family fun ideas will not only keep your kids entertained and enjoying summer, but will bring your family even closer together.
