Skid Row released “Monkey Business” as their lead single from their second album
Slave To The Grind
in 1991. The song marked their transition from glam metal to heavy metal. The song was the most successful from that album and though it didn't make the top 40 it did reach #13 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and got significant airplay on MTV which helped the album reach double platinum status.
Sebastian Bach lead singer of Skid Row was one of my childhood crushes. He was so cute…he's actually aged pretty well for a rock star. In 2003 he joined the cast of
Gilmore Girls,
one of my all time favorite shows, as Gil, a middle aged sandwich shop owner, playing guitar in a garage band of high school kids because his music career didn't pan out. He remained on the show through the end and even returned for the
Gilmore Girls Year In The Life
released on Netflix in 2016.
