RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Thousands of people claimed their spots for this week’s shows at the 44th annual Hodag Festival with the annual chair line.
It’s the annual event that allows attendees to claim their spot on the lawn for this weekend’s shows. Mike Klieforth, a Hodag veteran of 17 years, was first in line. “It’s’ nice, you don’t need to wait for 16 or 18 hours to get in,” he told WAOW TV.
Four waves allowed groups to claim their spots every 90 minutes. “There’s no bad seat, there really isn’t.” said John Wright, festival-goer.
Some moved in groups of more than 30 people, and it’s not just family. “From kids I coached in soccer that are now adults all the way through extended family, we’ve got about 36 people.” said Wright.
Today’s featured performers are Brett Westgrove, Jon Pardi, and Neal McCoy.
