MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) — Mosinee Mayor Brent Jacobson has announced his intent to run for re-election in 2023.
Jacobson made the announcement late Wednesday night, saying “Eight years ago I decided to take on public service. During that time it has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve in the roles I have been blessed to have. Mosinee has put its trust and confidence in me for what will be four terms in April, and I am forever grateful. During that short time, our accomplishments as
a community cannot go unnoticed.”
Mayor Jacobson also touted growth in the city’s business park and new hotel development in the city’s downtown area. The city has also seen new single and multi-family housing projects.
“Our rate of population growth has outpaced Marathon County and Wisconsin; and we have invested in our parks, our streets, and our public safety. Like all those before me who have had this job, I have always tried to do what I feel is best for our community,” added Jacobson.
If re-elected, Jacobson says his goals would include a plan to tackle street projects and looking for ways to expand the Central Wisconsin Business Park, which is nearly full.
He was first elected Mayor in 2015.
December 1st marks the first day that local candidates can begin circulating petitions for the April 4th election.
