MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — With Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton nursing knee injuries the Milwaukee Bucks didn’t miss a beat in a 123-97 win over Utah.
Bobby Portis scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds starting in place of Giannis. Jrue Holiday added 21 points and eight boards.
Rookie MarJon Beauchamp came off the bench to score 18 points, shooting 3/7 from three-point range and going a perfect 4/4 from the free-throw line. Starter Brook Lopez also scored 18 points.
Grayson Allen chipped in 13. The only starter who didn’t score in double figures was Jevon Carter, who was completely held off the scoresheet.
Lauri Markkanen and Malik Beasley each scored 18 points for Utah. Former Badger Micah Potter did not play in the game though he was dressed.
The Bucks improved to 21-8 on the season and the road today for a game in New Orleans on Monday. That’s the first of a five-game road trip which includes stops at Eastern Conference rivals Cleveland, Brooklyn, and the Christmas Day game at Boston.
