WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The USA Curling Club Championships wrapped up on Sunday at the Wausau Curling Club.
Winners from this year’s event included the Politano rink from Ardsley, N.Y., in the Women’s bracket. On the men’s side, the winner was Mansell rink from Denver, CO.
The Paolitano squad defeated a team from Detroit to win the championship. Mansel rink overcame a challenge from Eau Claire’s Ward rink to claim the title.
Stands at the host club were full of fans every day of the competition, Wausau Curling Club organizers reported. “An eight-end thank you to our volunteers, sponsors, fans, USA Curling, and our competitors, especially our Wausau host club teams,” said Wausau Curling Club president Kim Susens.
“I think everybody had fun on and off the ice. It was definitely good curling.”
This was the first USA curling event hosted in Wausau since the 2021 Men’s and Women’s National Championships and the 2021 Mixed Doubles National Championship.
