It’s all I see and hear. I can’t escape it. It’s on the radio, it’s in the news, it’s in movie theaters, and it’s definitely on a t-shirt someone’s wearing right now. That it I’m talking about is the iconic Taylor Swift. You can’t avoid here even if you wanted to. Good thing 99% of the population doesn’t wanna and neither do I.
Taylor Swift is the most influential person in the world. There, I said it. She has boosted our economy in ways that I never imagined an artist can. The amount of money people spend to see her is astronomical. I hope Swifites don’t come at me for this, but her fan base, the “Swifites” are kinda like a cult. Just with how devoted they are to their leader who online is called “mother.” I get it though. Taylor is beautiful, quirky, powerful and talented beyond belief. I don’t know what she can’t do. The Eras Tour has generated more money than any tour in the history of touring acts. Her Eras Tour film she just released on 10-13 has already outsold Justin Bieber and Michael Jackson’s musical documentaries that have been out for years! She’s influenced a whole new generation of young adults to take voting rights seriously. She’s inspired people across the globe to get into music and songwriting. She encourages her younger fans not to take their education for granted. Taylor is a girls girl. She is alwasy supporting women and that’s something I can get behind. I could go on and on about the impacts she’s made. I hope people truly understand how much her Eras Tour has impacted the world and the way the music and touring industry will forever be changed.
Now, I don’t wanna be the girl who only focuses on Taylor’s dating history, but we have to at least talk about it. Taylor has dated some of the biggest celebrities. Her new man though, Travis Kelce, has to be my favorite. Unlike the girlies on Tiktok, I knew who Travis was prior to them linking up. He’s a great tight end, becoming a household name and just seems like a really solid dude. His podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, who plays for the Eagles (#GOBIRDS) is interesting too. Although, I can’t say I loved his time on TV when he had his own dating show, “Catching Kelce”, it just wasn’t for me. Anyways, Taylor and him are like the all American couple. The blonde princess looking pop-star and the handsome and talented athlete. It’s like our own version of David and Victoria. They seem very happy together and my lord is it being publicized. Every time I open my phone it’s Taylor and Travis were spotted here or Taylor and Travis did this and that. Like pleaseeeee let them (and me) breath! Over the weekend they made surprise appearances on SNL. I was gagged, shook, amazed, whatever you wanna say. Just not where I expected to see them. Here’s my thoughts on this. The NFL’s ratings were down. They saw how successful lil miss blondie (TS) is and decided they need her. They hooked her up with the guy who is all over our TVs right now doing commercials and BOOM, now they’re together making headlines all across the world. Great way to gain NFL viewership and have people excited about football again. Although, when you watch any Chiefs game now or listen to any analyst or sideline reporter, they’re all talking about Taylor and not just football. The power of the TS strikes again. I think it’s all just an act and a big PR stunt, but hey, they look cute together, seem happy and I hope it works out! I would love to hear a football themed breakup album though, lol.
