BRASILIA (Reuters) – Brazil’s finance minister said on Friday that the challenge of an upcoming income tax reform will not be exempting workers earning up to 5,000 reais ($876) per month, but rather offsetting such revenue loss by taxing those who currently do not pay the tax.
In an interview with local media outlet ICL, Fernando Haddad said that growth with low inflation was an “obsession” for President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s government.
