WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau School District is finalizing the sale of two elementary schools.
According to a news release on Tuesday, Hewitt-Texas and Grant will be sold. Meaning all three closed elementary schools will be under new ownership this fall.
District officials did not name the purchaser, stating that more information would be released later.
Last week, the district announced the sale of Hawthorne Hills Elementary to Faith Christian Academy. That transaction is expected to close in the next three weeks.
All three schools closed at the end of the 2024-’25 academic year as part of a district-wide restructuring of the elementary footprint. A fourth school, Lincoln Elementary on South 6th Avenue, also closed but will reopen this fall as a 4K facility for students on the west side of the Wisconsin River.
