Milwaukee Brewers
WASHINGTON, DC (WSAU) — William Contreras finished 5-7 and four other batters recorded at least four hits as Milwaukee defeated Washington 16-9 on Friday.
Andruw Monasterio picked up four hits, including a double. Joey Ortiz, Andrew Vaughn, and Caleb Durbin each recorded three hits.
Blake Perkins finished 2-6 with both of his hits leaving the park, a solo home run in the 2nd and a two-run shot in the 5th. Vaughn and Contreras also homered.
Jose Quintana pitched five innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs. He was credited with the win. Easton McGee was roughed up for five earned runs and five hits in the 8th and 9th innings, but managed to preserve the win.
Milwaukee is now 65-44 on the season and will play the Nationals again this afternoon in DC. Pregame coverage begins at 2:30 PM.
