Nicholas Fuge
PLOVER, WI (WSAU) — A Plover man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for first-degree sexual assault of a child.
Nicholas Fuge was sentenced on Tuesday after he was found guilty during a jury trial earlier this year. Following the jury decision, he pleaded no contest and was found guilty of 3rd degree child sexual assault in a separate case. The 52-year-old will also serve four years on probation and will spend the rest of his life on the state sex offender registry.
Judge Luis Molepsek’s sentencing covers both cases.
“These crimes are such a tragedy and show how sexual abuse of young people, even a single incident, even if occurring in a short period of time, can have a profoundly devastating effect on their development and wellbeing,” said District Attorney Cass Cousins in a press release. “This case had the added tragedy of devastating families and loved ones in addition to the individual victim and how abuse ripples out to destroy many lives. I would ike to extend my deep appreciation to the Plover Police Department, Waupaca County Health and Human Services, and the Fox Valley Child Advocacy Center for their tremendous investigative efforts, without which these crimes could not have been prosecuted.”
Charges in both cases date back to the fall of 2023.
