Tony Haase
WAUPACA, WI (WSAU) — Jury deliberations are well underway in the Tony Haase murder trial.
The 12-person jury got the case on Wednesday and spent much of Thursday deliberating with no verdict. On Friday, the group asked to re-watch a taped interview with the 54-year-old suspect, which shows him confessing to the murders. Though his defense argues that the confession was “false.”

On Thursday, the jury indicated that they were having a difficult time coming to a consensus on the case.
Investigators say Haase killed Tanna Togstad and Timothy Mumbrue after a night of drinking in 1992. He was charged with the crimes almost 30 years later, after DNA evidence linked him to the scene. Haase admits that he ended up at Togstad’s home that night, but says his memory of what happened is foggy because he had been drinking.
The jury is expected to resume deliberations on Friday afternoon.
