Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) –William Contreras produced a pair of run-scoring hits, including a game-winning, walk-off home run in the 9th, to give Milwaukee a 5-4 win over San Francisco on Friday.
Contreras also recorded a two-run double in the 7th, which briefly gave the Brewers a 3-2 lead. Andrew Vaughn extended that to 4-2 with an RBI groundout later in the inning.
Former Brewer Willy Adames homered twice for the Giants in his return to American Family Field. Contreras finished 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored, the only Brewer with multiple hits in the game.
Jose Quintana went 5.1 innings and allowed two earned runs on two hits. He didn’t factor in the decision. Trevor Megill got the vulture win to improve his record to 5-2. He was also charged with a blown save for allowing the game-tying run to score on a wild pitch in the 9th.
The same two teams will play again tonight. Radio coverage will move to 93.9 The Game starting at 5:35 PM.
