WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Habitat for Humanity of Wausau has completed the build of their 74th home in the community, and will hold a public dedication ceremony.
The organization began construction on a home on Jefferson Street in September of 2024. Setting the foundation of the house was a collaborative effort between HFH and the D.C Everest High School Construction Trades class. Once the foundation was built, the home was transported and set in May of this year.
“I think it is amazing that we are able to help one family with so many amazing volunteers and community partnerships, and really helping our community be a place where families can feel welcome and have a decent, affordable place to live,” said Tiffany Arnold, Executive Director of HFH.
Tuesday night an open house and home dedication was hosted, inviting the community to tour the home and celebrate the completion.
Arnold says that HFH will look to unveil their 75th home in early October. That house is directly across the street from the 74th. HFH is looking to have a total of 76 homes built by the end of this year.
