OAK CREEK, WI (WSAU) – A popular southern gas station chain is officially coming to Wisconsin.
According to WISN, on Tuesday evening, The Oak Creek Common Council voted unanimously to approve a deal with Buc-ee’s to not just open its first location in Wisconsin but to rename the road it will be located on from “Elm Road” to “Buc-ee’s Boulevard”. The deal will reportedly include a one-time $350,000 payment from the chain, to be made after the station opens, to a community project chosen by the city.
The deal also requires Buc-ee’s to break ground by September 1, 2026, and finish the location by August 1, 2028.
Buc-ee’s has operated mainly in Texas since being founded in 1982, but since 2019, the company has expanded beyond Texas and now runs 56 sites in several states, including Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
