I’m sure Aaron Rodgers wants to get back on the field as
soon as possible. But is it a good idea? Mike McCarthy said yesterday that
Rodgers could return to practice at the end of this week. But McCarthy wasn’t sure
if Rodgers would hit the field or not. With the Packers playoff chances all but
gone (they need to win out and get help) is it in the best interests of either
Rodgers or the Packers to come back behind a makeshift O-line with a healing
clavicle? Rodgers undoubtably wants to show his toughness by getting back as
soon as possible and will want to play regardless of the playoff situation.
Will the Packer brass risk alienating their star by telling him no? That could
backfire big time. That’s why Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy make the big
bucks…to make decisions like this.
The Milwaukee Brewers have filled up their 40 man roster by
claiming pitcher Dylan Baker from Cleveland. The 25 year old has barely pitched
the past three seasons due to injuries. Davis Stearns says he believes Baker is
healthy now..
I’ll be at the East gym tonight for high school hoops as the

UW Oshkosh is still alive in the D-3 football playoffs. They
will host a quarterfinal vs Wartburg Iowa on Saturday at noon. They are coming
off a 42-21 win over North Central where QB Brett Kasper threw six touchdown
passes. The Titans are unbeaten at 11-0 this season.
Elections have consequences….As Donald Trump unleashes his
unhinged assault on the international press, his Kremlin buddy Vlad Putin signs
a bill targeting international media outlets as agents of a foreign power.
Gee,nobody saw that coming………..New York Yankee president Randy Levine, a longtime
friend of Donald Trump, is advising the President to rethink the current tax
plan. He realizes, like many others, that these Republican tax plans don’t help
the middle class at all but are nothing but a sop for the wealthy. As Levine
put it in his op-ed, “You ran on tax cuts, not on the swamps idea of tax reform
where special interests win. This is a plan that helps Wall Street, hedge
funds, private equity managers, real estate and oil & gas partnerships and
individuals who disguise income as profits or distributions” It’s clear to see
that Paul Ryan in the House and the Republicans in the senate have crafted
bills that help their wealthy donors at the expense of everyone else. And every
time they and their minions go on tv and lie about it a million Trump
bobble-heads out there just nod along, content to continue to support people
that are selling them down the river…..go to vox.com and read the piece that
lays out the timeline of the Trump-Russia scandal in visual form. It’s striking
to see it all in one place and might be very compelling for those who still
believe there’s nothing there……on Friday Reuters reports that the Consumer
Financial Protection Bureau is preparing a huge lawsuit against megabank
Santander. Also on Friday Trump appoints Mick Mulvaney to head CFPB where he
can reverse the case. Oh, and Mulvaney’s former top aide is right now lobbying
for Santander…drain the swamp indeed!…..This seems to be a week where Trump
is gonna manufacture chaos with outrageous tweets and stunts to distract how he
is trying to undermine all three branches of the government, the free press
etc. The racist clap-trap he spewed to a group of Navajo code-talkers yesterday
is a perfect example. Don’t be
distracted…focus on the stuff that matters…not his classless clown antics when
it comes to anyone who dares suggest the emperor has no clothes….
