WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Musical acts, off-Broadway shows, and several tribute acts will populate the Grand Theater during the 2023-’24 performance season.
Theater Director Sean Wright says there’s a lot to be excited about with this year’s lineup. “[We have] big Broadway titles and Tony winners like Mean Girls to major musical artists like Air Supply and The Guess Who and comedians.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with it,” added Wright.
The upcoming season will feature the off-Broadway hit Mean Girls and My Fair Lady. The Cher Show, Stomp, and iLuminate will also take the stage.
Musical acts on tap for the season include tributes to Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumors” album, and ABBA. Air Supply and The Guess Who are also scheduled to appear with their current lineups.
Comedians Brian Regan and the #IMomSoHard duo will also appear.

Wright adds that it’s become easy to sell traveling shows on the Wausau market because of the support for shows at the Grand. “Whether it is musical tributes, family shows, comedy, or classical. When agencies see the tickets we are moving and they hear the stories of the wonderful audiences; it makes our job easier. We don’t have to do much convincing as we used to. People are excited to come to the Grand.”
He adds that Wausau is one of the smallest markets that gets off-Broadway shows each year.
Theater officials released the complete schedule this evening. A special season preview event will be held on Tuesday at 5:30 at the theater, including a ticket presale for those who would like to purchase seats to four or more shows. Season subscriptions will go on sale Wednesday, and single-show tickets will go on sale July 11th.
