ROTHSCHILD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A Wisconsin State Patrol cruiser was hit in Marathon County Thursday night amid foggy conditions.
According to State Patrol, it happened along the on-ramp shoulder of Highway29 and I-39. The trooper was pulled over investigating multiple car slide-offs in the area. The squad car’s emergency lights were activated.
The trooper was not hurt.
A tow ban was put into place on Friday morning because of icy conditions and low visibility due to fog. Numerous crashes were reported.
Authorities say this is the third State Patrol cruiser hit this month.
