HELP! Is “Pecan” Pronounced Pea-can or Puh-con?

We’re entering pecan pie season . . . so it’s time to dive back into THIS debate.

Which pronunciation is right:  PEA-can . . . or puh-CON?

A survey asked people and the results . . . solve literally nothing.

50.54% of people voted for puh-CON . . . 49.46% voted for PEA-can.

I am just going to skip this whole debate, because I don’t even care about pecans! I’m just going to enjoy pumpkin pie instead!
