WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a robbery at the R Store on N 3rd Street.
It happened on Friday, December 29th when the clerk activated the silent alarm after they were approached by a man trying to purchase some cigars. While the clerk rang up the purchase, the customer produced what appeared to be a handgun in a plastic bag and demanded cash.
The clerk gave the man the cash and he fled. Officers canvassed the area but didn’t find the suspect, who was last seen running south towards Dekalb Street.
No other customers were in the store at the time.
The suspect is described as a slender Black male. He was wearing a long black gown that reached his feet and a black winter jacket with a hood. His face was concealed with white gauze-like material. He also had thin blue gloves on his hands.
