WOOD COUNTY, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A Marshfield Fire Department HAZMAT crew is responding to a two-vehicle crash involving a pickup and a box truck at County Road H and M near Auburndale.
WAOW TV reports that the driver of the box truck was stopped at a stop sign and didn’t see the oncoming pickup. The vehicles collided and ended up in the ditch, with the pickup catching fire.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries.
The box truck was carrying pesticides, some of which leaked. Crews will be working to clear the spill for several hours. Officers note there is no danger to the public, but they are asking drivers to stay away from the area until cleanup is complete.
First responders from Auburndale and Marshfield, along with the Wood County Highway Department, responded to the scene. The driver of the box truck was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way.
