WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – There was an apartment fire in Wausau on Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters were called around 4:30pm to the Sturgeon Bay Apartments. Four other departments assisted at the scene.
The fire was contained to one apartment, but there was a smoke condition on other floors. The building was evacuated and ventilated. One person was hospitalized for shortness of breath. There were no other injuries.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.
Some people in the building have been relocated to temporary housing with the assistance of the Red Cross.
