MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — A member of the Marshfield City Council has announced her resignation.
District 3 Alder Natasha Tompkins and her family will be moving out of the area, according to a news release from the City.
“We thank Natasha for her service to the residents of District 3 and the City of Marshfield,” said Mayor Nick Poeschel. “Her dedication to public service and her commitment to the community have been greatly appreciated. We wish Natasha, her husband, and their family all the best as they begin this next chapter.”
Alders will now decide how to fill the District 3 vacancy. A special election could be held to fill the remainder of her term. The seat could also be filled through an application and interview process, with the remaining nine alders voting one applicant into the seat.
Tompkins was first elected in 2022 and had just won re-election to her seat on April 7th, defeating Joe Konieczny with 72% of the vote.
