WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — An anonymous donor has contributed $1 million to the Grand Theater’s Second Century campaign, representing about half of the remaining $2 million funding gap.
According to a press release from the Performing Arts Foundation, the money has been put in a challenge fund. Meaning all donations between now and December 31st will be matched, up to $1 million. Should the full $1 million be reached, the Grand would reach its full $17.5 million fundraising goal.
“We are profoundly grateful to this donor for their extraordinary generosity and vision,” said Executive Director Sean Wright. “An investment of this magnitude underscores the regional significance of The Grand. By matching community donations dollar-for-dollar, this anonymous benefactor is empowering every single supporter to play a direct, amplified role in securing our theater’s future for the next century.”
The matching challenge applies to all new pledges, public donations, and seat-naming gifts made moving forward. Community members interested in doubling their impact or learning more about the project are encouraged to visit the campaign website or contact the development office.
